Anna Horbenko
We are looking for relatives of Anna Pavlivna Horbenko (Reychenko), also known as Erna Horbeuko, who, according to our records, was born on either January 25, 1918, or November 15, 1922, in the village of Pokrov, Dnipropetrovsk region. During the Second World War, she was deported from her home village to Germany as a forced laborer. From May 1942 on, Anna had to work at the Ambi-Budd pressing plant in Berlin-Johannisthal, a company that produced vehicle bodies. On April 4, 1944, she was sent to Ravensbrück concentration camp under unknown circumstances and forced to work in a sub-camp of Ravensbrück in Zwodau (now Svatava, Czech Republic).
In February 1945, she was transferred to Neuengamme concentration camp. Anna survived Nazi persecution and returned to Ukraine after the war. Her wristwatch is now kept in the Arolsen Archives, waiting to be returned to her family.
