Anna Bovkova

We are looking for relatives of Anna Bovkova (Bovkava), who was born on December 16, 1923, in the village of Petrashivka, Poltava region. Her parents were Ivan and Varvara. Anna was unmarried and was working in her home village when she was deported to the German Reich as a forced laborer. She was initially taken to Grünberg in Silesia (now Zielona Góra, Poland). From June 9, 1943, Anna had to work either in a textile factory or an armaments factory. She was held in Luisenhöhe camp at the time. Anna escaped from the camp on March 31, 1944, but was soon recaptured. One month later, the Gestapo sent her to Ravensbrück concentration camp. She was later transferred to Neuengamme concentration camp near Hamburg. Anna Bovkova survived Nazi persecution. Unfortunately, her subsequent fate is unknown. Anna’s ring, set with a blue-green stone, is now kept in the Arolsen Archives.
